Overview

On November 19th, 2015, the Satrughna Manju Dialysis Unit was inaugurated in Damauli Hospital, Tanahun by the National Kidney Center. This dialysis unit is unique to the region and was established with the help of Manju Upadhaya, who donated Rs. 12.5 million in memory of her late husband. The Lions ManaRam Foundation also donated a 62 KVA generator in memory of Late Ram Bahadur Shrestha to the unit in 2005. The unit features state-of-the-art dialysis services with eight machines, monthly visits by a nephrologist, supervision by the Bio Medical Engineering Unit, tele-nephrology services, and dialysis services for poor patients. The unit also offers free dialysis for senior citizens over 75 years old and indigenous tribes.
