Bird Flu

Overview
Bird flu, also known as avian influenza, is a viral infection that primarily affects birds, including domesticated poultry. In rare cases, bird flu can infect humans and cause severe respiratory illness, and in some cases, even death. The virus is spread through contact with infected birds, their saliva, feces, or contaminated surfaces. There are different strains of bird flu virus, some of which are more dangerous than others. The World Health Organization (WHO) closely monitors bird flu outbreaks and works with countries to contain and control the spread of the virus.
Symptoms
The symptoms of bird flu in humans can include:
fever
cough
sore throat
muscle aches
eye infections
Treatments
The treatment for bird flu includes antiviral medications such as oseltamivir and zanamivir, which can help to reduce the severity and duration of the illness. In severe cases, hospitalization may be necessary for supportive care such as oxygen therapy, fluid management, and respiratory support. However, the best way to prevent bird flu is to avoid exposure to infected birds and practice good hygiene. Vaccines are also available for some strains of bird flu.
