Overview

The Manipal Teaching Hospital (MTH) is located in Fulbari, Pokhara, Nepal, and serves as the teaching hospital for the Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS). It is owned by the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG). MCOMS was established in 1994 as the first private medical institute in Nepal after liberalization in 1990. The MBBS program started in 1994 with temporary recognition by the Nepal Medical Council and affiliation to Kathmandu University. The first batch passed final MBBS in 1999 and completed their internship in 2000. The clinical teaching initially used Western Regional Hospital (formerly Gandaki Zonal Hospital) in 1996 and has since expanded to use Green Pastures Hospital and Regional Tuberculosis Center partially. In 1998, the Manipal Teaching Hospital was inaugurated and has since expanded to 865 beds with the addition of services in cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, and surgical oncology.
