In the year 2019 B.S., a health center was established in Gothikanda, the old center of Surkhet district. In 2024, it was relocated to the sub-district of Surkhet, and in 2049, the district hospital was expanded to 25 beds. By Falgun 7, 2062, it was upgraded to a 50-bed regional hospital, and on Kartik 13, 2075, it was transformed into a provincial hospital, Karnali Province, with 300 beds and expert services, including financial support from the provincial and federal governments, providing healthcare services.
